Vögel is a sound & visual poetry on women -- choreographic impressions of women looking at other women, women loving other women, women moving through life, women's passing of time. Inky (the artist) is happy to premiere the work in her home city, Berlin, at the beautiful Lake Studios. Afterwards, the work will tour to NYC and Virginia.
Inky is a South Korea born artist who lives in Berlin. She has shown works at: Seoul Dance Center (Seoul, South Korea), JACK (NYC), Center for Performance and Research (NYC), Triskellion Arts (NYC), Berkeley Arts Festivals (CA), Phoenix Center for the Arts (AZ), ASU Art Museum (AZ)... She has been an artist residence at Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Lake Studios Berlin.
Mitchell Keaney is an artist and musician born in Mesa, Arizona in 1992. He has self released three full length albums, contributed art direction and rhythm to the Arizona-based band Gulch, and performed and exhibited sound work extensively throughout the Southwestern United States and in New York. He has described his interest and approach to working with sound similar to the way one would create a collage from found materials or printed matter. Mitchell is currently living and working in New York City.
